Black Ram is a Bulgarian blended whisky, and the lack of a concise set of parameters and legal standards. Vinprom Peshtera say they use a mash bill made up only of malted barley, and that they closely follow the distillation process used in countries such as Scotland and Japan.The spirit is matured for at least three years in Bulgarian Oak barrels, in a location near the Rodope Mountains, a place associated with Thracian mythology and history.

The Black Ram blended whisky carries an alcohol strength of 40% ABV, the standard permissible limit in most whisky producing countries.
